MORE ABOUT HALONA FARMS

Why Halona Farms?

The equine industry is experiencing a profound shift in climate, technology, and mass urbanization reducing available ranch and pasturelands. As people increasingly migrate horse farms to urban centers, these locations are often far from where quality hay and feed is produced. The cost of delivery is increasing for quality hay/alfalfa and the decline in fresh pasture grasses have taken a heavy toll on the quality, diversity and nutrition of feed readily available to equines every day.

The Origin of Halona Farms.

Halona Farms was born following the negative impact of the severe drought conditions that swept through Texas between 2010 and 2012, when millions of horses and other livestock were suffering and not a single blade of grass could be found. Fresh and nutritious grass and hay feed became increasingly scarce as prices soared. A sustainable solution needed to be implemented that would combat potential climate-based problems, so the inspiration for Halona Farms was kindled. The persisting drought conditions and lacking nutrition in traditional feeds led to Halona’s talented team developing a modern solution: a proprietary method of producing and distributing the freshly grown superfood, EquiGreen, on an industrial scale!

Automation & Controls Genius

Our Technology-Driven Process.

Through extensive global research of the controlled agriculture industry, the minds driving Halona Farms have elevated today’s hydroponic technology with a proprietary sustainable and scalable production process. Advancements in our growing technology have enabled our automated systems to perfect the specific production of EquiGreen sprouted grass. Air and water quality are constantly scrutinized, while a detailed nutrient threshold is carefully maintained to keep growth and nutrition consistently at optimal levels. During production, water and energy consumption are minimized by utilizing best practices. What this represents for our clients and their horses is access to a constant supply of top-quality feed that is grown to be highly nutritious, digestible and delivered daily at the lowest cost possible.

We’ve Partnered with Silver Bullet.

Silver Bullet water is the pinnacle of what water treatment can accomplish. By using a proprietary Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP), multiple stages and levels of particulate filtration, and Ultraviolet (UV) light sterilization, Silver Bullet is able to produce water in its purest form. This is especially valuable in the context of hydroponics since the presence of mineral and biological contaminants can alter the nutrition composition and growth of the flora being produced. Reliable. Clean. Better.
